I take my IPOD every where with me why does music calm me down?

Maybe you really are a music lover, you listen music anywhere just like me. I am not that musicaholic but I also bring my IPOD anywhere.

I think it is because it takes your mind off of the current problems. The beat lifts your heart rate, and gets you moving, which in turn lightens your mood. Turn it up, and keep it on!

Why does rain or thunder calm someone, but not others. Why do some japanese pop and techno keep a developer focused but annoys the shit out of others (raises hand, I’m that guilty developer).
Music is a form of expression and expression is often a manifestation of emotions and feeling. So depending on the music of your choice you’re re-enforcing those emotions, triggering a feeling or memory. As such that may calm you.

It calms you down because it gives you something to think about and focus on. It has lyrics. Its a message. Also, the tempo/genre of the music affects how you respond to it. If it is classical it usually lets your brain think. Screamo/metal makes your heart rate faster. Folk calms you down. Pay attention to how you act when you listen to certain genres of music.

its therapeutic. Now you gotta have the right music for that though…. id suggest copping the following:
